Vintage Quercetti Gerry Andersons Fireball XL5 Ultra Rare 1963 Fireball XL5 Spaceship With Parachute And Catapult- Luncher In The Original Box. Released by Italian Company Quercetti in 1963 as part of their series of catapult-launched plastic rockets and missiles. This fantastic Fireball XL5 Spaceship was based on the hit television show of the arly 1960's and feature the familiar Fireball XL5 Rocket Spaceship that incorporated a parachute which was released when the ship had reached its maximum height and started its journey back to earth. You fire the rocket ship into the sky with the catapult launcher which hooks on to the nose cone, pull down asfar as you can and release the ship and watch it climb up to 100meters in the sky. The item is in very good condition over all, which is amazing considering that it is now over 56 years old, it still has the parachute attached, and the cockpit lock still functions perfectly. Their is some rubbing of the paint work on the nose cone and the fins, but otherwise is in fantastic shape, although we have not tried to fly it as its to good to risk any damage. The item includes a spare parachute and the original instruction sheet. Comes in the original box, which has seen better days, but does still hold its shape, but is missing the flaps at both end, but the graphics on the box look amazing. Originally came with a mini Steve Zodiac figure but he has been lost during the passage of time. A truly fantastic find of an ultra rare Fireball XL5 toy from over half a century ago.
