Vintage Doctor Dr Who 1992 The Sixties Hardback Book - Autographed By Varity Lambert, Micheal Sheard, Philip Madoc, Mark Eden, Angus Lennie. Released by Dr Who Books in 1992 as part of their series of Dr Who special Hardback series. On 23 November 1963, a British institution was born. Dr Who originally ran for almost 30 years and commanded a following no other TV programme matched. But in its day it had to face fierce opposition from within the BBC, and it only narrowly missed being axed after its first season when questions about the Daleks and their terrifying effects on children were asked in the House. This book is the definitive record of these early years, providing an insight into a production process very different from the sophisticated studio methods of today, and tells something of the internal political wranglings at the BBC. This fantastic The Sixties Hardback Book is in near mint condition, other than inside on the first page, their are five autographs, Varity Lambert who was the very first Dr Who Producer, Mark Eden who played Marco Polo in the 1964 serial of the same name, Michael Sheard who played Rhos in the 1966 serial The Ark and went on to appear in five other stories of the 1970s and 80s, Philip Madoc who played Eelek in 1969 serial The Krotons and The War Lord in the 1969 serial The War Games and also went on to appear in two other stories in the 1970's, and Angus Lennie who appeared in the 1967 serial The Ice Warrior.
