Vintage Doctor Who And The Auton Invasion Novelization by Terrance Dicks. Released by Target books paperbacks in 1974, this is the 1975 second impression, that is based on the television serial Doctor Who Spearhead From Space starring Jon Pertwee as Dr Who. In this, the first adventure of his third incarnation, Doctor Who, Liz Shaw and the Brigadier grapple with the nightmarish invasion of the Autons. Living, giant-sized, plastic-modelled 'humans' with no hair and sightless eyes, they are waxwork replicas and tailors' dummies whose murderous behaviour is directed by the Nestene Consciousness - a malignant, squid-like monster of cosmic proportions and indescribably hideous appearance. This fantastic Doctor who Target Paperback Book is in fairly good condition overall, which is amazing considering it is now over 44 years old. The front and back covers are nice clean and bright, but does have some wear mainly along the edges and a few creases. The spline is also in fairly good condition, but does have some wear along the edges and a has had a tape repair which runs the length of the spline Internally the book is in good condition, all 160 pages are present and attached and without damage with the exception of the index page which has come loose and been taped back in. Otherwise their are no signs of any writing or markings, however the pages have browned slightly with age. Still a very nice copy of a vintage Doctor Who Paperback from yesteryear.
